My name is Edidiong Usen and I am from Abak, in Akwa Ibom State. In late 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was involved in a serious car accident that left me injured. Due to the shock of being in an accident for the first time, I could not inform my family about it. Though I had minor wounds, I still needed medical care, but I personally didn’t have the money to cover the cost for a proper recovery.
Through my Church family, I got connected with GAMAID Foundation. I was greatly relieved of going through this trial alone. Their quick response lifted such a weight off my shoulders and gave me peace. I was relieved of being a burden to my family at that time.
GAMAID Foundation covered all of my medical expenses, and I left the hospital early. Beyond settling the hospital bills, they provided safe, comfortable accommodation so I could rest undisturbed until my wounds fully healed. They also arranged for wholesome meals to be given to me every day, meeting my nutritional needs at a time when I was honestly too weak to cook for myself.
The impact of all this was truly deep. With the financial burden lifted, my family and I felt real relief and peace since the accident happened. My recovery picked up speed because I could rest without worry. Every nourishing meal and every night of sleep under a secure roof renewed both my body and my spirit.
To the team at GAMAID Foundation, please accept my deepest thanks. Your timely generosity turned my season of suffering into one of true restoration. May the foundation keep bearing much fruit, and may you continue to bring healing, dignity and peace into many more lives, just as you brought into mine.
