GAMAID Foundation

Gifts in wills

A gift that keepsa programme runningafter you.

A gift in your will costs nothing now and can fund a kitchen, a shelter bed or a training place for years. It is entirely private, and you can change your mind at any time.

How it works

Leaving a giftin your will.

You can leave GAMAID a fixed sum, a specific item, or a share of what remains after other gifts. Your solicitor or lawyer adds a clause to your will; we do not need to be told, though we are glad to be.

Suggested wording

I give to GAMAID Foundation (Corporate Affairs Commission RC 8334339) of 15 Ikpa Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom, Nigeria, [the sum of ₦____ / ____ % of the residue of my estate] to be applied for its general charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of the treasurer or other proper officer shall be a sufficient discharge to my executors.

This is a starting point, not legal advice. Please have a solicitor check it.

If you live in the United States, the same wording works with the US entity: GAMAID.

Charitable trusts

A charitable trust can be set up to fund a named programme, for example the kitchen, from its income, indefinitely. If you are considering this, the board would welcome a conversation before any documents are drawn up so the purpose is one we can honour.
