My name is Edima Sunny. Before joining the training programmes offered by GAMAID Foundation in April 2022, my experience in graphic design was honestly quite limited. I could only create basic designs using Canva, and that was about it. However, through the foundation’s well rounded training initiatives, I was able to seriously level up my skills. I learnt how to use professional graphic design tools like Affinity Designer, Affinity Photo, Affinity Publisher, and Adobe Illustrator. Beyond just creating social media thumbnails, I also picked up skills in typesetting and formatting booklets, which has proven to be incredibly valuable in real work.
On top of graphic design, I received hands on training in audio editing and sound design. Using Adobe Audition as my main tool, I mastered techniques like noise reduction, applying sound effects, and creatively enhancing audio by layering music beds and soundscapes, basically turning simple scripts into compelling audio presentations.
This year marked a real breakthrough in my video editing journey too. I started off learning the basics with Wondershare Filmora, then advanced through proper formal training in Adobe Premiere Pro. Eventually, I transitioned to DaVinci Resolve, which I now use to edit full length videos, craft trailers, produce social media reels and create a wide range of promotional video content.
Thanks to GAMAID Foundation, I have been empowered with real, income generating skills that have truly opened doors I never even imagined possible.
