My name is Edidiong Usen, I am 26 years old, and I am from Uyo in Akwa Ibom State. In late 2023, my life took an unexpected turn when I was involved in a serious car accident that left me injured, with my whole family in deep shock. As the medical bills started piling up and my wounds needed constant care, fear and uncertainty quickly took over. We honestly had no way to cover the cost of treatment, not to talk of simple things like regular meals and a safe place to rest while I recovered.

 

My journey to hope began through my church family. They saw what I was going through and connected me with GAMAID Foundation. From the very first call, their compassion was so clear. They listened to my whole story, prayed with me, and assured me that help was already on its way. That single act of care alone lifted such a weight off my shoulders and gave me the courage to believe I would not be walking through this trial by myself.

 

True to their word, GAMAID Foundation stepped in straight away. They covered all of my medical expenses, so the doctors and nurses could focus on my healing instead of worrying about paperwork or payments. Beyond settling the hospital bills, they arranged for wholesome meals to be sent to me every day, meeting my nutritional needs at a time when I was honestly too weak to cook for myself. They also provided safe, comfortable accommodation so I could rest undisturbed until my wounds fully healed.

 

The impact of all this was truly deep. With the financial burden lifted, my family and I felt real relief and peace for the first time since the accident happened. My recovery picked up speed because I could finally rest without worry. Every nourishing meal and every night of sleep under a secure roof renewed both my body and my spirit. The stress that once clouded our days was gently replaced by genuine gratitude and hope.
