My name is Dr Michael Peter. I was going through a hard season of my life when I discovered the GAMAID Foundation. I’d just been involved in a serious accident that nearly took my life, and on top of that, I was facing real financial pressure. I needed money to complete my final year clearance at university, pay for my professional licence, and get a suit ready for my induction. I was also trying to find my feet in a new job and needed something to keep me going until my first salary came in.

I first heard about the GAMAID Foundation through my church, and honestly, I thank God I did. Their support came in two main forms: medical care and financial help. Between November and December 2024, they covered all my hospital bills: admission, treatment, feeding, and even the rather expensive MRI scans. It was a massive relief, because neither I nor my family could have managed those costs on our own. I can’t put an exact figure on it, but I know it ran into hundreds of thousands of naira; probably more than half a million.

Beyond the medical side of things, they also stepped in financially. My final year clearance and professional licence fees came to around ₦215,000. The suit and accessories for my induction cost about ₦50,000, and my convocation fees were ₦30,000. Later, in 2025, I took a loan of ₦140,000 from them to help me settle into my new job and sort out a few things in my flat while waiting for my salary to start coming in, and I’m glad to say I was able to pay it back.

The impact of all this on my life has been enormous. My parents have had a really tough time financially over the past few years, so this support took a huge weight off their shoulders. It helped me recover from a near-fatal accident, finish my clearance, get licensed, walk into my induction looking the part, and start my new job with my head held high.

I’m genuinely grateful to God for GAMAID Foundation. They showed up at a moment when everything could so easily have fallen apart. My prayer is that God continues to bless them and helps them carry out their mission, so they can reach even more people and accomplish everything they’ve set out to do.
