My name is God’sfavour Udoumoh, and I am an adult living in Uyo. Before GAMAID Foundation came into my life, I was carrying a heavy weight of financial hardship, and on top of that, I genuinely did not have decent clothing to my name. As a medical student writing professional exams, I was staying in the campus hostel where meals were hard to come by, and my old wardrobe constantly made me feel out of place among my coursemates. I first heard about GAMAID Foundation at my church, when they invited us for an outreach seminar. Honestly, I never imagined that one invitation was going to become the lifeline I so badly needed.
From 2020, GAMAID Foundation started giving me steady feeding support all through the three weeks of every exam season. They would send funds that made sure I never had to skip a proper, nourishing meal during those critical days. Those meals did not just keep my body going, they kept my focus sharp and my confidence steady right there in the exam hall. At the same time, their Mercy team kept blessing me with a steady flow of new clothes, gowns, blouses, trousers, shirts and so much more, so I could carry myself with real dignity and professionalism, instead of feeling shy or self conscious in worn out outfits.
Over these five years, the support I have received in cash and kind, about ₦30,000 in exam feeding stipends and countless pieces of clothing, has brought so much relief to my parents. Anytime they saw me well fed and properly dressed, you could literally see the financial weight lift off their shoulders. Even more than that, the kindness of GAMAID Foundation restored my self respect and helped me focus fully on my studies, without that constant worry of where my next meal or my next good outfit would come from. Their generosity has truly been a source of comfort, strength and steady provision through some of the most challenging seasons of my life, and I remain deeply grateful to every team member, every sponsor and every volunteer whose love and compassion continue to change my world. I genuinely look forward to growing this relationship with GAMAID Foundation, and seeing just how many more lives we can uplift together
