I’m Joy Akpan, an adult living in Nigeria, and before GAMAID Foundation stepped in, I was caught in a relentless struggle to meet my most basic needs. I faced severe financial hardship that left me wondering how I would pay my rent or even afford a single meal, and without stable housing I often felt unsettled and vulnerable. In 2022, when everything seemed at its lowest, GAMAID offered me a place in their family housing program—providing safe, dignified shelter—and began covering my rent and food expenses so I no longer had to go to bed hungry or sleep in uncertainty. They supplemented that support with regular meals to keep me nourished, spiritual counselling to strengthen my heart, and a job‐support initiative that placed me in housekeeping work where I could earn an honest income. Over the past three years (2022–2025), their combined assistance—totaling well over ₦1.5 million in food, rent, transport stipends (₦130,000 in 2025 alone), and even an interest-free loan of ₦350,000—has given me more than financial relief: it has restored my hope and allowed me to focus on my spiritual growth without resorting to begging or compromising my values. Thanks to GAMAID’s unwavering care, I’ve found stability, discovered my own strength, and learned what it means to be part of a community that truly cares. I am deeply grateful to the Foundation’s team, sponsors, and volunteers for their love, prayers, and generosity, and I pray that God continues to bless them abundantly, meeting every need according to His riches in glory.
