I’m Blessing Godwin, a 24-year-old living in Uyo, and before GAMAID Foundation found me, I was caught in a cycle of hunger, financial hardship, and unstable housing. My parents did their best, but their limited means meant I often skipped meals and spent sleepless nights worrying about where I would lay my head. Each morning I would drag myself to class, knowing that I had no guarantee of food or rent money once the lecture halls emptied.

Then, in 2020, GAMAID Foundation reached out and changed everything. They offered me a safe, permanent place to stay, covered my basic living expenses, and provided regular food support so that I no longer had to wonder where my next meal would come from. They also enrolled me in a job-support program, equipping me with skills and giving me paid work that allowed me to care for myself. Beyond the practical aid, GAMAID’s counselors met with me regularly, listening to my fears and encouraging me to press on through every challenge.

Over the past five years—through exams, holidays, and personal setbacks—their holistic support (valued at roughly ₦1.5 million) has freed me from desperation. I could finally focus on my studies without the gnawing anxiety of hunger or homelessness. I was able to secure stable employment, stand on my own feet, and avoid the dangerous paths I once feared I might take.

I cannot express fully how grateful I am to GAMAID’s team, sponsors, and volunteers. Their kindness restored my dignity, gave me hope, and showed me that I am not alone. May God bless them richly, grant them ever-increasing grace and provision, and use them to lift even more lives as they have lifted mine.
