Before GAM Aid came into the picture, I was facing a serious housing challenge that seemed impossible to overcome. I found myself squatting in a cramped room with some of my old secondary school classmates while attending university. Although I was deeply grateful for their kindness and willingness to share what little space they had, living under those circumstances left me feeling morally compromised and emotionally unsettled. Each day I struggled with a sense of shame and uncertainty, wondering how long I could continue in that situation without losing my dignity or my focus on my studies.
When GAM Aid extended their hand of friendship and support, everything changed. I was welcomed into a church family house where I finally had a place to call my own. Beyond simply providing a roof over my head, the team at GAM Aid ensured I received spiritual encouragement that renewed my hope, as well as monetary assistance that eased the weight of my everyday expenses. They also arranged a tutoring job for me, which not only covered my basic needs but helped me develop new skills—improving my teaching abilities, boosting my confidence, and equipping me with practical experience I will carry forward in life.

Through the guidance and care of GAM Aid, I experienced significant spiritual growth and learned invaluable life lessons about love, respect, kindness, and the beauty of communal living. My daytime work as a tutor fostered a sense of purpose and self-reliance, allowing me to provide for myself and take pressure off my parents, who were already doing their best with limited resources. In that nurturing environment, I discovered strengths I never knew I had and developed a deeper appreciation for service and generosity.
