A Sanctuary of Strength: Ndosire Danjuma’s Journey of Transformation
I am Ndosire Iditere Danjuma, before GAMAID Foundation stepped into my life, I was caught in the relentless grip of housing insecurity and financial hardship. Night after night, I faced the uncertainty of where I would sleep, often worrying that I might end up on the streets or in unsafe surroundings. Each morning I woke with a knot in my stomach, wondering how I would find not only shelter, but also the basic provisions I needed to survive. The strain on my family grew heavier as they tried to stretch every naira to cover my most urgent needs.
My introduction to GAMAID came through my church family. A concerned friend recognized my struggle and connected me to the Foundation’s volunteers, who welcomed me with open arms and genuine compassion. In 2024, they provided me with secure shelter and regular food support—assistance amounting to hundreds of thousands of naira. Beyond meeting these immediate needs, GAMAID also offered one-on-one counseling, helping me process the emotional toll of my circumstances, and connected me with job opportunities that restored my sense of dignity and self-reliance.
The impact of GAMAID’s care has been nothing short of profound. Having a dependable place to rest each night brought a peace I had never known, allowing me to reclaim my energy and focus on rebuilding my life. Consistent meals nourished both my body and my spirit, freeing me from the constant fear of hunger. Through counseling, I learned coping strategies that strengthened my resilience, and the job support I received equipped me with new skills to support myself.
For my family, the relief has been equally transformative. The cost of my shelter and meals no longer fell solely on their shoulders, easing their financial burden and giving them room to breathe. I am now able to contribute to our household in small but meaningful ways, using the skills I gained through GAMAID’s programs to help others in turn.
To the entire GAMAID team, sponsors, and volunteers: I offer my heartfelt gratitude and prayers. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity and compassion, and may your ministry continue to grow so that many more lives can be uplifted, just as mine has been.
