My name is Unwana Edidem, and I am an adult resident of Uyo. I have personally received life changing support from GAMAID Foundation. Before they came into our lives, my family and I were dealing with serious challenges all at once, financial hardship, hunger, housing insecurity, medical emergencies, and the heavy responsibility of making sure a young girl’s education kept going through all of it. We were genuinely overwhelmed, with nowhere reliable to turn to for help.

From 2020, GAMAID Foundation stepped in, and they have stood with us consistently for over five years now. The support we received came in both money and kind, totalling about ₦700,000 in value. It came in different forms, including the regular payment of my niece’s school fees, which made sure her education never had to stop. During my late sister’s critical illness, the Foundation made significant contributions towards her hospital bills. On top of that, we received steady food support that carried us through several tough seasons of lack.

GAMAID Foundation also funded medical check ups and hospital visits for my niece, provided clothes for my sister’s children, and extended generous loans during our financial emergencies, always with so much kindness and a forgiving heart. And whenever we needed employment, they made job opportunities available too, helping us stay afloat and slowly regain our sense of dignity and purpose.

Through their support, my family has been saved from so many difficult situations. There were countless times we genuinely did not know how we were going to survive, but their timely intervention always gave us hope, stability and real relief. The impact of their help cannot be overstated. It has restored our confidence and given us the strength to move forward.
