Participating in Farm Camp was a six-week experience that went far beyond what I imagined. It wasn’t just a training program — it was a deeply enriching journey, both educative and transformative. I joined from the very first day, and now, looking back, I can confidently say that those weeks developed me in ways I hadn’t anticipated.
Before stepping into camp, my life was completely buried under the weight of constant work. I was running on autopilot — busy but disconnected. Entering the farm environment felt like crossing into a different world. I found myself surrounded by new faces, new rhythms, and new responsibilities. Every day came with fresh challenges — unfamiliar tasks, early mornings, group dynamics — all pushing me beyond my comfort zone. But strangely, it was exactly what I needed. That shift from noise to nature gave me room to breathe again.
One of the most unexpected and meaningful parts of the camp was learning how to truly connect — not just socially, but emotionally and spiritually. I found myself bonding with people I had never met before, sharing laughter, labor, and lessons. But even more deeply, I found myself connecting with nature in a way I hadn’t before. There was something profound about watching birds grow — from vulnerable hatchlings to lively creatures fluttering through their pens. And yet, there were difficult moments too — when some birds didn’t make it. Those moments were tough, but they stirred something in me. I began to feel compassion in a fresh way. I developed a quiet reverence for life — its fragility, its wonder, its unpredictability.
But Farm Camp was never just about poultry or planting. It was about life. About slowing down long enough to listen, to learn, and to grow — inwardly and outwardly. It taught me discipline through daily routines, teamwork through shared tasks, patience through long hours, and perspective through quiet reflections.
More than anything, Farm Camp reminded me of the beauty of intentional living. It pulled me away from routine and helped me rediscover parts of myself that were buried under the noise of busyness. I left the camp not only with practical knowledge, but with a refreshed spirit, clearer focus, and renewed gratitude.
I’m deeply thankful to have been part of such a powerful experience. And without hesitation, I’m looking forward to doing it again.
